Cloud phones
When you have no phone to hand, or need a few more for an hour, rent a cloud phone: an Android phone that runs on our servers, by the minute, and works alongside your own phones.
What a cloud phone is
- A fresh Android 14 phone in its own virtual machine, started from our image for your rental.
- Yours alone while it runs, and deleted with everything on it when it stops: at the time you chose, when you stop it, or when your minutes or your spending limit run out.
- Seen and controlled in your browser (your account → Cloud phones) without installing anything, or in the app, where it joins your fleet like your other phones and works with workflows, AI and the API.
Good to know
- It runs Android without Google Play and uses a datacentre internet address, so apps that need Google Play or Play Integrity are best tested on your own phones.
- It starts fresh for every rental and keeps nothing afterwards.
- At CAPTCHAs and other human-only checks, BenchFleet hands the phone to a person, on cloud phones as on your own. The terms say how cloud phones may be used.
What it costs
- £0.02 a minute, from prepaid minutes: £10 for 500 minutes, £25 for 1,250 minutes and £100 for 5,000 minutes, usable for 12 months. Prices without VAT. A new account starts with no minutes: buy a pack to start a phone. Within 14 days of buying a pack you can ask support to refund the minutes you have not used; used minutes are never refunded.
- Pro and Team include 300 minutes a month (Team: for each seat); they are used first.
- Your account → Cloud minutes shows what is left and when it expires, what each day and each phone used, and your spending limit: phones stop when the month's spending reaches it, and you get an email at 50 %, 80 % and 100 %.
Start a phone
- Sign in on the website and open your account → Cloud phones, or in the app open Add phone → Cloud phone and choose BenchFleet (the app needs API mode in Settings → Privacy and your account signed in).
- Choose how long it may run at most. It starts in about a minute.
- Control it or Watch only in the browser; in the app it appears in the Fleet. One person or workflow controls a phone at a time.
- Stop the phone when you are done: you pay only for the minutes it ran.
What we can see
Your Hub's connection to a cloud phone is encrypted end to end: the service that rents you the phone never sees your commands, workflows or secrets. The phone itself runs on our server, so what happens on it exists there while it runs; we keep no copy of its screen or what you type. We keep records of each rental and of the phone's connections to the internet (where to and how much, not what), and on the website how many inputs you made each minute by kind, never what or where. The privacy notice has the details and how long we keep them.
