How to automate repetitive tasks across a fleet of Android phones without code
In short: In BenchFleet, do the task once on a phone while the recorder turns your taps and typing into steps, or build it from blocks in the visual editor, then run it on a group or every phone, now or on a schedule. Steps find buttons by their text, so one workflow works on different phones. Workflows come with Pro, at £12 a month + VAT.
Opening the same app on twenty phones, checking a setting, taking a reading or clearing a cache every morning is work nobody should do by hand. The no-code tools for Android split into apps that automate the one phone they run on, MDMs that push policies, and fleet tools that repeat a recorded task on many phones. Checked on 23 October 2026 on each tool's own pages. We make BenchFleet.
Free for up to 3 phones, with no account. Pro adds workflows, schedules and AI for up to 25 phones from £12 a month + VAT.
The options compared
| Option | How you build the automation | Runs on | Price as seen | Website |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BenchFleet | Record it on a phone, build it from blocks, or edit YAML | One phone, a group or every phone, from your computer | Free for 3 phones; workflows on Pro, £12 a month + VAT | benchfleet.com |
| Automate (LlamaLab) | Flowcharts of blocks on the phone, 400+ blocks | The phone it is installed on | Free with up to 30 running blocks; Premium is an in-app purchase | llamalab.com/automate |
| MacroDroid | Macros of triggers, actions and constraints on the phone | The phone it is installed on | Free with up to five macros; Pro is an in-app purchase | macrodroid.com |
| An MDM or EMM | Policies and app deployments in a web console | Enrolled phones | Per device, by product | Your MDM's site |
| AirDroid Business | Policies, kiosk mode, alerts and workflows in its console | Enrolled phones with its app | From $1.00 a device a month billed annually, 10 minimum | airdroid.com |
| Kobiton scriptless automation | Captured from a manual test session on a real device | Its devices | Startup from $83 a month | kobiton.com |
Automate and MacroDroid suit one phone you set up by hand; they react to events on that phone. An MDM manages settings and apps across enrolled phones. BenchFleet repeats what a person does in any app, on many phones at once.
How it works in BenchFleet Pro
- Allow automation on the phones. Open a phone's Details → Automation; BenchFleet installs a small helper that reads the screen's interface. Watching and controlling a phone need nothing extra.
- Record the task. Start the recorder and do the task once on a phone. Your taps and typing become steps that find each element by its text and role rather than by its position.
- Tidy it in the visual editor. Add Wait for an element, conditions, loops, retries and checks. Every workflow is also a readable YAML file you can keep in version control.
- Try it. A dry run shows what would happen without touching the phones.
- Run it on the fleet. Choose one phone, a group or every phone that matches; BenchFleet asks you to confirm how many phones the run reaches. Groups can follow a rule, so new phones join on their own.
- Schedule it. At a set time, every few minutes or hours, or once. See scheduling jobs on a group of phones.
Each run keeps a timeline with screenshots, and a failed run can be replayed step by step. At CAPTCHAs, sign-in checks and other steps meant for people, the run stops and hands the phone to a person.
For one-off jobs, group actions install an app, launch it, reboot or take screenshots on many phones at once, and Broadcast mirrors your taps on one phone to the others.
Who it is for
- Operations teams with company phones that need the same routine every day.
- QA teams who record a check once and run it on every phone after each build. See record once, replay on every phone.
- Device labs that keep phones set up the same way.
BenchFleet works with phones connected to your computers by USB or Wi-Fi, with Developer options on, so it suits company phones kept together rather than phones staff carry. More in controlling many Android phones from one PC.
Automate, MacroDroid, AirDroid and Kobiton are the names of their owners' products. BenchFleet is not affiliated with any of them.
Questions
How do I automate the same task on many Android phones without coding?
Record it once. In BenchFleet, the recorder turns what you do on one phone into workflow steps, and you run the workflow on a group or every phone, or schedule it. The visual editor adds conditions, loops, retries and checks without code.
Can MacroDroid or Automate run one automation on many phones?
They run on the phone they are installed on. You build each automation in the app on that phone; MacroDroid's web helper manages one device's macros at a time. BenchFleet runs one workflow from your computer on many phones.
Do the phones need root or an app?
No root. BenchFleet uses USB debugging and, once you allow automation on a phone, installs a small helper that reads the screen's interface.
What if an app update breaks the workflow?
Steps find elements by their text and role first, with image and text recognition on the screen as a fallback, so small changes rarely matter. When one does, replay the failed run step by step and let the Repairs page propose a fix you test before it is used.
Can an AI do the task instead?
Yes, on Pro and Team. Give an AI task a goal in plain words for one phone, a group or every phone, with your own model; it stays in the apps you allow and you read every step afterwards.
