AWS Device Farm alternatives
In short: AWS Device Farm rents real phones at $0.17 a device minute, or from $250 a month per unmetered slot. For devices you use every day, BenchFleet runs phones you own from your computer for a flat plan price, with no per-minute meter. Other real-device clouds and cloud virtual phones are compared below.
Prices checked on 20 October 2026 on each vendor's page; they change. We make BenchFleet. AWS Device Farm is a good fit for teams that live in AWS and need many real models. If instead the same handful of devices run all day, a flat plan on phones you own costs less over a year, and nothing caps the session.
Free for up to 3 phones, with no account. Pro adds workflows, schedules and AI for up to 25 phones from £12 a month + VAT.
What AWS Device Farm costs
- Pay as you go: $0.17 per device minute.
- Unlimited test and access: from $250 per device slot per month.
- Private devices: from $200 a month.

Estimating your AWS Device Farm cost
- When does a slot beat pay as you go? A $250 slot equals $250 / $0.17, about 1,470 device minutes a month (about 24.5 hours). If one device runs more than that each month, the slot is cheaper.
- Small CI suite: 10 minutes on 3 devices per build, 40 builds a month is 1,200 device minutes, about $204 a month pay as you go.
- Large regression run: 2 hours a day on 5 devices over 22 working days is 13,200 device minutes, about $2,244 a month pay as you go, against $1,250 for 5 slots.
AWS's API reference also notes that remote debugging is no longer supported for Device Farm remote access sessions.

A quick cost comparison
Five devices, about 20 hours each a month, for 12 months, at list prices:
- AWS Device Farm pay as you go: 5 × 1,200 minutes × $0.17 × 12 = $12,240
- AWS Device Farm unmetered: 5 slots × $250 × 12 = $15,000
- Genymotion SaaS Unlimited billed annually: 5 × $179 × 12 = $10,740
- DeviceLab, with the first device free: 4 × $99 × 12 = $4,752 plus phones
- BenchFleet Pro: £12 a month + VAT, the same each month, plus phones
Phones cost money too, so for a model you need once a month, a cloud is the sensible way to reach it.
Where AWS Device Farm fits
- Your builds, IAM and billing already live in AWS.
- You need iOS and a wide range of real models.
- You run Appium tests through its managed endpoint.
Where an alternative fits
- The same devices every day: your own phones with BenchFleet, DeviceLab or STF.
- Long sessions or AI agents: your own phones have no session cap. See let an AI agent control an Android phone.
- Interactive debugging with adb: your own phones, Genymotion SaaS or Google Device Streaming.
- Lower per-minute cost for work that runs on virtual Android: Limrun, Genymotion, Appetize, or BenchFleet cloud phones.

Questions
What are alternatives to AWS Device Farm?
Three groups. Other real-device clouds such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs and TestMu AI; cloud virtual phones such as Genymotion SaaS, Limrun and Appetize; and your own phones run from your computer with BenchFleet, DeviceLab or DeviceFarmer. BenchFleet suits devices you use every day.
When does an AWS Device Farm slot beat pay as you go?
A $250 slot equals $250 divided by $0.17, about 1,470 device minutes a month, or roughly 24.5 hours. If one device runs more than that each month, the unmetered slot costs less than paying per minute.
Does BenchFleet have session time limits?
No. The phones are yours, so a session lasts as long as you need, which suits soak tests and AI agents that run for hours.
How much does BenchFleet cost compared with AWS Device Farm?
BenchFleet is free for 3 phones, and Pro costs £12 a month + VAT for up to 25 phones, however long they run. AWS Device Farm charges per device minute or per slot, so cost grows with use, but it reaches phone models you may not own.
