How to give an AI agent a cloud Android phone

In short: To give an AI agent a cloud Android phone, rent one and point your MCP client at it. With BenchFleet cloud phones, at £0.02 a minute from prepaid minutes, the rented phone joins your fleet, so the agent works under the same approvals and audit log as on your own phones. Set a time and spending limit first.

Checked on 20 October 2026, the day BenchFleet cloud phones launched. We make BenchFleet, which leads this list. No phone on your desk is no reason to hold an agent back. Here are the ways to hand it an Android phone in the cloud, and what each costs.

Free for up to 3 phones, with no account. Pro adds workflows, schedules and AI for up to 25 phones from £12 a month + VAT.

Before you start: set two limits

An agent can leave a phone running. Whatever service you use, set:

  • A time limit per phone (an idle timeout or a maximum run time).
  • A spending limit per month, so a forgotten phone or a loop cannot run up a bill.

Option 1: BenchFleet cloud phones

BenchFleet lets you rent an Android phone by the minute from inside BenchFleet. Each rental is a fresh Android 14 phone in its own virtual machine, private while it runs and deleted with everything on it when it stops.

  1. In the app choose Add phone → Cloud phone (the app needs API mode and your account signed in), or sign in on the website and open Cloud phones in your account.
  2. Choose the longest time it may run. The phone starts in about a minute and joins your fleet.
  3. Connect your AI client as for any BenchFleet phone: Settings → AI clients → Connect an AI client. See let Claude Code or Codex use an Android phone.

The rented phone goes through the same checks as your USB phones:

  • The AI client sees only the phones you allowed, at Look only or Look and operate access.
  • Saved passwords, payments, account-security changes and work on more than ten phones wait for a person.
  • CAPTCHAs and other human-only checks hand the phone to a person.
  • Every call is recorded in a hash-chained audit log.
  • You can watch the phone live or take control with mouse and keyboard.

Price: £0.02 a minute from prepaid minutes (£10 for 500 minutes, £25 for 1,250 minutes and £100 for 5,000 minutes, each usable for 12 months); Pro and Team include 300 minutes a month, used first. A spending limit stops your phones when the month's spending reaches it. Cloud phones run Android without Google Play, so apps that need Google Play are best tested on your own phones. More in cloud Android phones, and the prices.

Option 2: a virtual phone with adb (Genymotion SaaS)

Genymotion's gmsaas command-line tool can connect a SaaS device to Android Debug Bridge, so the device appears in adb devices like a phone on a cable. Add an adb-based MCP server to your client, for example claude mcp add mobile-mcp -- npx -y @mobilenext/mobile-mcp@latest, and start with a read-only task. Genymotion's pricing page lists $0.06 a minute per running device, or $219 per device per month ($179 billed annually) for unlimited use. See BenchFleet and Genymotion.

Option 3: a cloud for coding agents (Limrun)

Limrun offers remote Xcode, iOS and Android simulators for cloud agents. Its pricing page lists 1 credit a minute for an Android emulator, which is $0.032 to $0.06 a minute depending on plan, with an Entry plan at $20 a month for 500 credits and a trial of 120 credits. See BenchFleet and Limrun.

Option 4: an agent platform with cloud phones (Mobilerun)

Mobilerun rents cloud Android phones and real iPhones to agents and has a hosted MCP server. Its Free plan gives 1 phone and 60 minutes; Developer is $20 a month for 5 phones and 600 minutes, then $0.03 a minute. See BenchFleet and Mobilerun.

Option 5: Google's real devices from the Android CLI

Since 2 October 2026, Google's Android CLI lets "any AI agent or tool" reach real remote phones through Android Device Streaming, over a secure ADB over SSL connection; Google names Claude and Codex. Firebase's pricing page lists 30 no-cost minutes per project per month, then 15 cents a minute.

Questions

How do I give an AI agent a cloud Android phone?

Rent an Android phone from a cloud service and add an MCP client to it. In BenchFleet, start a cloud phone with Add phone, Cloud phone, and it joins your fleet, where Claude Code or Codex use it under the access you set. Set a time limit and a spending limit before the agent starts.

Can Claude Code use an Android emulator in the cloud?

Yes. Claude Code can use any Android device that an MCP server can reach. BenchFleet cloud phones join your fleet, Genymotion SaaS devices connect to adb, Limrun and Mobilerun provide agent tools, and Google's Android CLI reaches real remote phones with Device Streaming.

What are BenchFleet cloud phones?

Android phones you rent by the minute from inside BenchFleet, at £0.02 a minute from prepaid minutes, with a spending limit. Each rental is a fresh Android 14 phone, private while it runs and deleted when it stops. Pro and Team include 300 minutes a month.

Why use a cloud phone through BenchFleet?

The rented phone joins the same fleet as your USB phones, so the agent goes through the same checks: only the phones you allowed, approvals for sensitive steps, human-only checks handed to a person and an audit log of every call.

Do BenchFleet cloud phones have Google Play?

No. They run Android without Google Play and use datacentre internet addresses, so apps that need Google Play or Play Integrity are best tested on your own phones.

Which BenchFleet plans include MCP access?

AI clients are part of the Pro and Team plans. Pro costs £12 a month + VAT for up to 25 phones, and Team costs £20 per seat a month + VAT. The Free plan covers 3 phones with live view and control.
