How support desks view and take over company Android phones from one PC

In short: For company test or shared phones kept at the desk or in a lab, BenchFleet shows every phone live on one PC and takes control of any of them in one click, over adb. Each phone needs Developer options and USB debugging, so it is not for staff's personal phones; for those, use an MDM's remote help or AirDroid. Free covers 3 phones.

Which tool fits depends on where the phone is. A phone in a salesperson's pocket in another city needs a remote-support app or the company's MDM. A shelf of shared phones, test phones or demo phones next to the desk can be watched and controlled directly over adb, all on one screen. Checked on 23 October 2026 on each product's own documentation.

Free for up to 3 phones, with no account. Pro adds workflows, schedules and AI for up to 25 phones from £12 a month + VAT.

When BenchFleet fits, and when it does not

It fits company phones you keep together: shared phones a team borrows, test and QA phones, demo phones and device benches. A support desk sees every one of them live, notices the one that is offline, hot or low on battery, and takes over the phone a colleague asks about.

It does not fit phones staff carry. BenchFleet reaches a phone through adb, which needs Developer options and USB debugging on the phone and a computer nearby running BenchFleet or a gateway. It does not enrol phones over the internet, enforce policies or wipe a lost phone; that is an MDM's job.

Taking over a phone in BenchFleet

  1. Find it. The Fleet page shows every phone as a live tile with its battery, temperature, connection and the app in front; search, filters and groups find the one you need.
  2. Click it. If nothing automated is working on it, you are in control at once: your mouse, keyboard and clipboard work on the phone, and the banner says You are in control. If a workflow or AI task is running, Take over asks first.
  3. Fix it. Its files, apps, logcat and a terminal are on the same page. Pop out puts the phone in a window of its own.
  4. Hand it back. Release control returns the phone to its previous mode. Every action is in the audit log under your name.

On Team, colleagues sign in with their own role, rights can be limited to chosen phones or groups, and phones on other desks join through gateways: see sharing test phones across a team. With remote access on Pro and Team, the desk can use the Hub from a browser over your own network or a VPN.

AirDroid, Microsoft Intune, Samsung Knox, TeamViewer and AnyDesk are the names of their owners' products. BenchFleet is not affiliated with any of them.

Questions

How can a support desk take over a company Android phone?

For phones out with staff, use a remote-support tool with an app on the phone, such as AirDroid, TeamViewer or AnyDesk with the maker's add-on, or your MDM's remote help. For test and shared phones connected to a desk computer, BenchFleet takes control over adb in one click.

What does BenchFleet need on each phone?

Developer options with USB debugging on, and a connection to the computer that runs BenchFleet, by cable or Wireless debugging on the same network. Phones on other computers join through gateways on Team. It installs no app for viewing and control.

Can BenchFleet reach a phone in an employee's pocket over the internet?

No. BenchFleet works with phones connected to computers you run it on, so it suits company test phones, shared phones and device benches. For phones in staff's hands, use an MDM or a remote-support app.

Which Android phones does Microsoft Intune Remote Help support?

According to Microsoft's documentation, Android Enterprise dedicated devices from Samsung with Knox or from Zebra. It is a paid add-on to Intune Plan 1 or Plan 2.

Is every take-over recorded?

In BenchFleet, yes. Every action on a phone is in a hash-chained audit log with the person who did it, and taking a phone someone else controls needs a confirmation.
