Free tools to control several Android phones with mouse and keyboard over adb

In short: BenchFleet's Free plan controls 3 Android phones at once from one screen, with your mouse and keyboard over adb, no account and no time limit. For more phones for free, scrcpy runs one window per phone, and QtScrcpy and Escrcpy add several phones in one window. All use USB debugging and need no root.

You can control Android phones from a computer for free with tools built on adb, Android's debugging bridge. They differ in how many phones fit on one screen, whether they show each phone's state, and what they add beyond the screen. This page lists the free options with their websites and limits. Checked on 23 October 2026.

Free for up to 3 phones, with no account. Pro adds workflows, schedules and AI for up to 25 phones from £12 a month + VAT.

Two more tools often come up, but they are not adb tools:

  • droidVNC-NG is a free VNC server app that runs on the phone (GPL-2.0, no root). It needs its accessibility service and screen-capture permission, and its README says traffic other than the password exchange is not encrypted. github.com/bk138/droidVNC-NG
  • AirDroid Personal controls phones through its own apps; its free plan covers 2 Android devices and 200 MB of remote data a month. airdroid.com

guiscrcpy, a scrcpy front end, is archived on GitHub, with its last release in January 2023.

Free control with scrcpy, step by step

With several phones connected, scrcpy needs to know which one to show. List them, then start one window per phone:

bash
adb devices -l
scrcpy -s SERIAL_1 --window-title="Phone 1" --max-size=1024
scrcpy -s SERIAL_2 --window-title="Phone 2" --max-size=1024

Each window takes your mouse and keyboard while it has focus, and copies the clipboard both ways. For many windows, lower each stream with --max-size, --video-bit-rate and --max-fps; mirroring 10 phones from a laptop gives settings that fit ten on one screen.

Free control with BenchFleet

BenchFleet is a desktop app for Windows, macOS (Apple silicon) and Linux. It is built on scrcpy's open-source server and brings its own adb, so there is nothing else to install:

  1. Turn on USB debugging in each phone's Developer options and plug the phones in, or pair them with Wireless debugging by scanning the code the app shows.
  2. Every phone appears on the Fleet page as a live tile, with its health and anything that needs you in red.
  3. Click a phone and your mouse, keyboard and clipboard work on it. Its files, apps, logcat and a terminal are on the same page. Release control hands it back.

The Free plan does this for 3 phones at a time, with no account and no time limit, and records every action in the audit log. When you need more phones or the same job done on all of them, Pro, at £12 a month + VAT, covers up to 25 phones and adds group actions, Broadcast, workflows and AI agents that use the phones with approvals. See controlling many Android phones from one PC and scrcpy for many phones.

Who it is for

  • Developers and testers with a few phones on the desk, who want them on one screen instead of a window each.
  • Device labs and support desks who need to see at a glance which phone is offline, hot or low on battery.
  • People building with AI agents, who start with free control and later let Claude Code or Codex use the same phones on Pro. See the Android MCP server.

scrcpy, QtScrcpy, Escrcpy, DeviceFarmer, Android Studio, Vysor, droidVNC-NG, AirDroid and guiscrcpy are the names of their owners' products and projects. BenchFleet is not affiliated with any of them.

Questions

What is the best free tool to control several Android phones from a PC?

For a few phones on one screen with their health and tools, BenchFleet's Free plan covers 3 phones with no account. For any number of phones, scrcpy is free and open source with one window per phone, and QtScrcpy and Escrcpy are free open-source apps that show several phones in one window.

Do these tools need root or an app on the phone?

No root. BenchFleet, scrcpy and QtScrcpy use adb over USB debugging or Wireless debugging and install no app on the phone for mirroring and control; Escrcpy and DeviceFarmer also work over adb. droidVNC-NG and AirDroid work differently, with an app on the phone.

Can I type on several phones at once?

QtScrcpy's group control and Escrcpy's broadcast send your input to several phones, per their READMEs. In BenchFleet, Broadcast mirrors your taps and typing on one phone to the others on Pro.

Is BenchFleet free?

Yes, for up to 3 phones at a time, with live view, control, files, apps, logs and the audit log, no account and no time limit. Pro, at £12 a month + VAT, covers up to 25 phones and adds workflows, group actions, broadcast and AI.

Can I control the phones over Wi-Fi?

Yes, with Wireless debugging on Android 11 and newer, or adb tcpip on older phones. BenchFleet pairs a phone with a code the app shows, and scrcpy connects with its --tcpip option.
